How to Manage Notifications in Microsoft Edge

Nowadays, notifications seem to be everywhere – and your web browser is no exception. While visiting your favorite website, you might notice that it asks to show you notifications. If you accept these notifications, your browser will alert you when something new is added to the site.

While these notifications are nice for some websites, over time they can get a little annoying. Luckily, Microsoft Edge makes it easy to manage these notifications – here’s how.

How to Enable / Disable Notifications in Microsoft Edge on Desktop & Mobile

Desktop

1. Within Microsoft Edge, click the 3 dots at the upper right corner and select Settings.
   
2. In the Settings screen, click Cookies and site permissions in the menu at the far left. On smaller displays, you first need to click the Hamburger menu icon in the upper left corner to reveal this menu.
   
3. Under Site permissions, click Notifications.
   
4. To disable notifications from specific sites, click the 3 dots next to each site under Allow and select Remove.
   
5. To enable notifications from a specific site, simply click the Add button to the right of Allow and type in the website’s domain (i.e. techswift.org).
6. You can also block notifications from specific sites by adding their domain to the Block list.
7. If you don’t want to see notification requests at all, then click the Toggle icon next to Quiet notification requests.
   

Mobile

1. Within the Edge mobile app, tap the 3 dots at the bottom center of the screen and then tap Settings.
   
2. Scroll down and tap Site permissions under the Advanced section and then tap Notifications.
   
3. Under Allowed, tap the website you wish to change.
   
4. Tap Notifications again and then tap the Toggle icon next to Show notifications to disable them for this website.
   

Disable All Edge Notifications in Windows 10 Settings

1. Click the Start button, or hit your Windows key on your keyboard, and click the Gear icon at the left side of the Start menu.
   
2. Click System in the Windows Settings window.
   
3. Click Notifications & actions in the menu at the left.
   
4. Finally, locate Microsoft Edge under Get notifications from these senders and click the Toggle icon to the right of it.
