On Twitch, two of the first things potential viewers see about your stream are its title and the game you’re playing. That’s why it’s important to keep your stream title and game category fresh, and change them whenever you switch to something new.

In this article, we’ll show you how to change the title and game category of a Twitch stream as a broadcaster or a channel moderator.

How to Change Stream Title & What Game you’re Playing on Twitch

Conveniently, you can change both your stream title and the game you’re playing in your Creator Dashboard. Below, we’ll show you exactly where these settings are on both desktop and mobile.

Desktop

1. Open Twitch and sign into your account.
2. Click your Avatar in the upper right corner and select Creator Dashboard.
   
3. In the menu on the left, click Stream Manager.
   
4. Under Quick Actions at the far right, click the Edit Stream Info tile.
   
5. To change the title of your Twitch stream, type a new title in the Title field.
   
6. To change what game you’re playing on Twitch, search for the game in the Category field and select it.
   
7. Click the Done button.

Mobile

1. Open the Twitch mobile app and sign into your account.
2. Tap your Avatar in the upper left corner and select Stream Manager.
   
3. Tap the Pencil icon in the upper right corner.
   
4. To change the title of your Twitch stream, type a new title in the Title field.
   
5. To change the game you’re playing on Twitch, tap the Category field and search for the game you’re streaming.
   
6. Tap the Update Information button at the bottom.

How to Change Stream Title & Game as a Mod on Twitch

Moderators of a Twitch channel can also change stream title and the game being played for the channels they moderate. It’s a nice feature for content creators as they can have their mods handle changes like these when they’re busy entertaining their viewers.

Here’s how you change stream title and the game being played as a mod.

1. In the chat of a channel you’re a moderator of, click the Sword icon just below the Chat box.
   
2. Click the Pencil icon to the right of the current title below the stream player.
   
3. To change the title of the stream, type a new title in the Title field.
   
4. To change the game being played, search for the game in the Category field and select it.
   
5. Click the Done button.
